The Zia sun symbol, created by the indigenous Zia people, reflects strength and growth. Its four rays honor the sacred number four: the four directions, the four seasons, the four stages of life, and the four times of day. The symbol also represents four sacred responsibilities — a clear mind, a strong body, a pure spirit, and devotion to family.
